Kaito Shigure, a college student in his early twenties, is pulled from Earth into a fantasy world with his friends, but arrives alone inside the Demon King's castle instead of the summoning hall. His arrival matches neither known summoning ritual, and one eye has turned vivid violet, matching Selene's, the second soul sharing his body. Selene embodies Kaito's repressed urges, instincts, directness, destructive power, and appetite, taking control through violet energy while pushing to keep the body longer each time. Kaito and Selene alone remember every reset. Allies forget, personalities shift, friends and lovers can become betrayers, and new people are summoned into the changing world. Resets have no known rhythm or trigger, lasting days, months, or years, and may happen during a conversation. The war between the Demon King and the Goddess is a distraction concealing the truth. Anchor can preserve selected people's memories, skills, levels, and abilities, initially only two or three people and never everyone. Kaito and Selene eventually discover different hidden classes, already chosen for them, with no ability to select their classes after the Demon King arc. As the loops continue, Kaito's tactical mind, anxiety, paranoia, and refusal to sleep damage his sense of self. After the loops stop, he discovers he was never human and may never have been summoned at all. He remembers every life, identity, relationship, and loss, and questions whether Selene is real. Selene insists she is, forcing them to confront what they truly are and whether any part of their lives was ever real.
